I used 2 layers of Vilene water soluble stabilizer hooped together. I was able to stitch multiple designs in the same hooping without degrading the designs or outlines.
I am including a text file with the outline of the shape I cut out to make the stiffened felt (camo) versions & instructions for making them. They are sooo quick and easy to make!
You can make them with or without the loops. Changing the colors will dramatically change the outcome. Please send pictures of your completed stitchouts. We would love to see them!

The stitchouts here are not to scale. I use almost all Isacord thread, polyester. I only rinse the Vilene until the item is no longer sticky feeling and then blot with a towel. If I am in a real hurry, I place them on wax paper on a cookie sheet in my oven on the lowest setting (170 degrees in mine). If they curl a little, I iron between 2 sheets of wax paper with a medium heat setting.
For the versions with the stiffened felt in the center (the camo & the white centers pictured above & to the left), be sure to rinse very lightly, just enough to remove the vilene from the back and the edges. |
